Guild Member
Before setting out on your adventure, you were a member of your municipality's or region's artisans' and merchants' guild and practiced or dealt in blacksmithing, gold smithing, jewelry, alchemy, armor smithing, carpentry, leather working, fishing, or a similar trade. The guild offered protections and aided in the procurement of goods, resources, or contracts. Keeping your dealings within the guild often even netted you discounts on wholesale purchases.

Guild's Aid. Assuming you are in good standing with your guild and paid your dues, you can request help at any hall or shop associated with your guild by showing them the signet ring given to you upon your joining. You can seek information, shelter, and sometimes even protection from other factions such as governments or would be assassins.
