Elves formed from confluences of aether in the early years of the star, or so claim the ancient texts as the reason for such stark differences between members of the same lineage. An elf gains their traits based on the environment in which they gasp their first breaths as aether enters their body for the first time.

Size. Elves typically stand just taller than the tallest Human. Your size is Medium.

Movement. Your base walking speed is 30ft.

Languages. Elves are commonly taught a language foreign to them in childhood. You can speak, read, and write, Common, Elven, and one other language of your choice.

Ability Score Increase. Your lineage largely determines your proclivities but there is some room for flexibility. You gain +1 to an Ability Score of your choice but it must be different than the Ability Score Increase granted by your Elven Blood.

Darkvision. Your sharp eyes draw in light more readily. You are unaffected by the Disadvantage imposed on sight-based checks imposed by darkness.

Aetherborne. The location of your birth determines your natural abilities. Select one from Seaborne, Woodborne, or Snowborne.

Seaborne Elf

Ability Score Increase. You gain +2 to your Intelligence Score.

Aetheric Blood. Natural leylines form upon your skin as you age. You know one Sorcery Cantrip of your choice and a level 1 Sorcery which you can cast once without expending spell points. You must finish a Long Rest to do so again.

Woodborne Elf

Ability Score Increase. You gain +2 to your Dexterity Score.

Friend to Nature. You are proficient in Animal Handling. Additionally, you may cast the Convene Familiar spell without expending spell points. Doing so grants your Familiar a barrier equal to a quarter of your maximum hit points, rounded down. You must finish a Long Rest to do so again.

Snow Elf

The pale nomads of the Great White North. This people lives and dies by the migrating herds of the game they hunt.

Ability Score Increase. You gain +2 to your Constitution Score.

Dread of the White. As long as you are wearing clothing or armor, you are resistant to cold damage. Additionally, you are not impeded by difficult terrain consisting of mud or snow.
